Guarana

Paullinia cupana
South Americanenergycognitiveantioxidantdigestive

Guarana is a climbing plant from the Amazon with seeds containing the world's highest natural concentration of caffeine — nearly twice that of coffee beans. The Sateré-Mawé people of Brazil have used guarana for centuries as a stimulant, fever treatment, and anti-diarrhoeal agent, traditionally grinding the dried paste into a drink for long journeys and ceremonies. Unlike coffee caffeine, guarana's caffeine is bound to tannins that slow absorption, producing sustained energy and focus over several hours.
