Honeybush is a flowering shrub from the Cape Fynbos of South Africa, closely related to rooibos and similarly prized as a medicinal tea. Its sweet, honey-like flavour comes from mangiferin and hesperidin, flavonoids with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Traditionally used for respiratory complaints, menopausal symptoms, and digestive disturbance, honeybush is one of South Africa's commercially cultivated medicinal plants and an important part of Cape herbal tradition.
